15 Best Wedding Venues in Chicago and the Suburbs (2026 Guide)
Chicago is two wedding markets, and the line between them is the catering contract.
In the city, most event spaces rent the room and then require their own caterer or bar, or set a food and beverage minimum. The rental fee is only the start: Galleria Marchetti's Saturday venue fee is $6,000, and its packages add $190 to $280 per guest. In the suburbs, more venues rent the space and let you bring your own caterer and alcohol, which can cut a total in half.
Across the metro, the median published venue starting price is $4,000 (n=50), the largest venue sample in Illinois. The real cost of a Saturday wedding for 150 is far above that in the city, and closer to it in the suburbs.
The other lever is the calendar. Chicago venues discount winter openly: Room 1520 takes 25% off December to March weekends, and The Haley Mansion's winter Saturday is half its summer price.
We cataloged 369 wedding venues across Chicago and its suburbs. Below are the 15 we would point a couple to first, each checked against the venue's own site.
Every venue below is in our Chicago wedding venue directory, where you can filter the full list and see published pricing side by side.

In the city
1. Galleria Marchetti
An Italian-style event estate in River West with two rooms: The Pavilion, a 6,000-square-foot tented ballroom with a courtyard, for 375 with dancing, and La Pergola, a glass ballroom with a retractable roof, for 150. It publishes everything:
- Venue fee: The Pavilion $4,000 Friday, $6,000 Saturday, $2,000 Sunday; La Pergola half that
- Packages per guest: Argento $190, Oro $235, Platino $280, each with hors d'oeuvres, a five-hour bar, wine service, a three-course dinner and the cake service
A 25% production fee and tax go on food and beverage. Do the math for 150 guests on a Saturday Argento package and you are near $41,000 before tax, so price the Sunday too.
2. Garfield Park Conservatory

- $6,000 Sunday to Tuesday or Thursday, $6,750 Friday or Saturday
- Extra hours $1,000

Others worth a look
Salvage One is an architectural salvage warehouse on Hubbard Street with a courtyard ceremony space and a hall. Bridgeport Art Center has a top-floor Skyline Loft reached by freight elevator. Revel Motor Row is a restored 1936 landmark on South Michigan Avenue. The Ivy Room at Tree Studios is in River North. Sarabande rents from $7,000 to $14,000 by season and day. How to shop Chicago venues
Find out who caters before you compare. A city room at $6,000 with a required caterer at $165 to $280 a guest is a $30,000-plus wedding for 150. A suburban rental at $10,500 where you bring your own caterer can come in below that.
Ask for the minimum, not the rental. Sky On Nine, The Haley Mansion and Ravenswood all work on food and beverage or guest minimums. That number, not the room fee, sets your floor.
Use winter. December to March discounts are real and published: 25% at Room 1520, a third or more off at Greenhouse Loft and The Haley Mansion. Chicago in January is cold, but every venue here is built for it.
Count the BYOB savings. Greenhouse Loft, The Ellery, Ravenswood and Sky On Nine allow your own alcohol. Galleria Marchetti, Room 1520, The Wellsley and The Haley Mansion do not. Our venue tour questions cover the rest.
Our venue checklist covers the rest of the shopping list, and what a wedding venue costs explains how venue pricing is structured.
