The average couple spends over 200 hours planning their wedding. A huge chunk of that is research — scrolling through directories, opening 40 browser tabs, comparing photographers and venues that all start to blur together.
The traditional wedding directories haven't changed in 20 years. They list every vendor, sort by paid placement, hide pricing behind an inquiry form, and leave the matching to you.
We built The Wedding Dossier to flip that. We read every vendor's website ourselves and pull out what is actually there — style, capacity, cuisine, coverage, and the prices they publish. Then we give it back three ways: a directory you can browse, pricing data you can plan a budget against, and a ranked shortlist scored on your wedding alone. Nobody can buy a position in any of them.

What is The Wedding Dossier?

How is this different from The Knot or WeddingWire?
Most wedding directories list every vendor and sort by who paid for placement. Nobody can pay us. We read each vendor's own website rather than a listing they bought, we publish the prices they publish instead of hiding them behind an inquiry form, and where you want it we will rank the whole market against your specific wedding.
Where does your pricing data come from?
From vendors' own websites. We read every page a vendor publishes and pull out the prices they state themselves — starting packages, per-guest catering, per-serving cake. We show the sample size next to every figure, because plenty of vendors publish nothing. Premium vendors are the likeliest to withhold pricing, so the real market usually runs a little higher than the published one.
How does the matching work?
We extract structured details from each vendor's site — style, capacity, photography aesthetic, cuisine, price range — then score every vendor across budget fit, style match, capacity, location, and more, weighted by what you said matters most. You get a ranked shortlist with the reason for each match. The first screen is budget, area, and guest count, about a minute, and it needs no account.
Do I need an account?
Not to browse the directory, read pricing, or read the guides — all of that is open. Your first venue matches need no account either. Signing up is only for saving your board, seeing every vendor category, and tracking who you have contacted.
