How Much Does a Wedding Cost in Missouri? (2026 Data)
Missouri has two large wedding markets at either end of I-70, St. Louis and Kansas City, and they cost about the same. Columbia and wine country sit a little higher, and the Ozarks, from Springfield to Joplin, are among the cheapest places in the state to rent a venue.
Missouri venues publish more prices than most vendors do. Photographers do too: more than half of Missouri's listed photographers post a rate. Caterers and bakers mostly do not.
Every figure here comes from a price a Missouri vendor published on their own website, with the sample size attached.
The short answer
A Missouri wedding's venue, photographer, flowers and DJ come to roughly $11,000 at the median published price in each category. Add catering, the bar and the rest for 100 guests, which Missouri caterers mostly do not publish, and most Missouri weddings likely land between $20,000 and $35,000 all in.
What each vendor costs in Missouri
These are published rates taken from Missouri vendor websites. The typical range runs from the median vendor's starting price to the median vendor's top published price; the full range is the lowest and highest price any vendor published.
| Category | Typical published range | Full range | Vendors publishing |
|---|---|---|---|
| Venue | $2,595 to $5,500 | $1,500 to $45,000 | 150 of 563 |
| Photographer | $2,300 to $3,800 | $550 to $12,000 | 89 of 158 |
| Florist | $5,000 | $1,500 to $10,000 | 13 of 204 |
| DJ | $1,085 to $2,530 | $550 to $4,995 | 14 of 49 |
Venues and photographers are well measured, at 150 and 89. The florist figure is thin: only 13 of 204 florists published a usable price, and the median starting and top prices are both $5,000, so read it as the price of a full-service package rather than a typical florist bill. DJs cleared the bar at 14.
Caterers and cakes did not clear our bar. Only seven caterers and nine bakers published a usable price statewide, so we publish no figure for them.

The regional split
Nine Missouri regions had at least five venues publishing a price.
| Region | Median published venue package | Sample |
|---|---|---|
| Missouri Wine Country | $3,670 | n=9 |
| Columbia & Jefferson City | $3,448 | n=12 |
| St. Louis Area | $3,100 | n=46 |
| Kansas City Area | $3,000 | n=36 |
| Cape Girardeau & Southeast Missouri | $2,500 | n=7 |
| Lake of the Ozarks | $2,500 | n=5 |
| Springfield Area | $1,900 | n=18 |
| St. Joseph & Northwest Missouri | $1,900 | n=6 |
| Joplin & Southwest Missouri | $1,800 | n=5 |
St. Louis and Kansas City are nearly level, and the most expensive single venues are in both. Wine country and Columbia run a little higher at the median, because more of their venues are weekend estates with lodging. The Ozarks are the value market: Springfield's median is $1,900, and historic halls there publish Saturdays at $3,000 to $3,750.
Photographers follow the same pattern: $2,650 in St. Louis (n=27), $2,400 in Kansas City (n=19), $2,200 in Columbia (n=13), and $1,500 in Springfield (n=10).
Our venue guides cover each region: St. Louis, Kansas City, Missouri, Springfield and Branson, Lake of the Ozarks, Columbia and Jefferson City and Missouri wine country.
The venues that publish under $1,500
Our venue table starts at $1,500. Below it are 60 Missouri venues publishing starting prices under $1,500, with a median of $750: chapels and elopement sites, community halls and short rentals. Branson's Dogwood Chapel, for one, starts at $225 for a couple. They suit a small ceremony, but they are a different product from a reception venue, so we count them separately.
The top of the market
The highest Missouri prices are weekends with lodging, all-inclusive packages, or peak Saturdays:
- Sunset Bluffs in Washington runs to $29,500 for its top package, before food and drink.
- White Iron Ridge in Smithville charges $22,000 for a peak Friday-Saturday with its guest suites.
- Stonegate Glass Chapel near Branson runs to $19,250 all-inclusive, with catering, a DJ, florals and a lake house stay.
- Shire Lane Estate in St. Charles charges $18,995 for a spring or fall weekend.
- The Glasshouse at River Oaks in Grandview charges $15,000 for a peak Saturday.
Putting a Missouri budget together
Here is the median published price in the four categories we can measure.
| Line item | Median-price build |
|---|---|
| Venue | $2,595 |
| Photography | $2,300 |
| Flowers | $5,000 |
| DJ | $1,085 |
| Subtotal | $10,980 |
The flowers line comes from 13 florists and is likely high for a simple bouquet-and-centerpieces order. Then add catering, cake, the bar, attire, rings, stationery, hair and makeup and gratuities. For 100 guests, catering and the bar alone often cost more than the venue. See our wedding budget breakdown for where the rest goes, and the budget spreadsheet template to work your own numbers.
Where Missouri couples save
Get married in January or February. The Glasshouse drops a Saturday from $15,000 to $10,000, White Iron Ridge from $13,000 to $8,000, and Haue Valley from $7,950 to $5,750. Shire Lane's winter weekend is $7,000 less than spring and fall, and Sycamore Creek Ranch near Branson takes 10% off from December to March.
Book a weekday. Melrose Abbey in Kansas City is $5,000 Monday to Thursday against $8,500 on a Saturday, Pythian Castle in Springfield is $1,800 against $3,500, and Little Piney Lodge near Hermann rents Tuesdays and Wednesdays for $3,800.
Bring your own. Little Piney Lodge and Turner Hall in Boonville let you bring your own alcohol, and Cypress Ridge near Columbia allows any caterer.
Look at the Ozarks. Springfield's venue median is $1,900, and Boonville's Turner Hall rents a whole weekend for $4,500.
A note on timing
May, June, September and October are peak season at most Missouri venues, and several reserve or restrict those weekends. We cover the tradeoffs in the best months to get married in Missouri.
How we built these numbers
We cataloged Missouri wedding vendors across 11 regions, crawled their websites, and used a language model to pull structured pricing out of the text they publish. Every figure comes from a price a vendor put on their own website, and the venue prices quoted in this guide were checked against the venues' sites when it was written. Nothing is estimated from national surveys.
The known bias is worth stating: vendors who publish prices are not a random sample. Publishing correlates with being mid-market and transparent, and the top of any market rarely publishes. Our medians likely sit below the true center of each category. Read them as a well-sourced floor.
Browse the vendors behind these numbers
Every figure on this page comes from vendors in our Missouri directory. You can see them market by market, with the same published pricing:
