The Best Months to Get Married in Missouri (2026 Seasonal Guide)
Missouri has four real seasons, and only two of them are reliably good for an outdoor wedding. Spring brings severe storms, July and August are hot and humid, and January and February are cold. Fall is the best of the year.
Missouri venues price that calendar in the open. Many publish four tiers: peak in spring and fall, a middle rate for March, July, August and December, and their lowest rates in January and February.
The quick answer
October is the best month to get married in Missouri, with September close behind. Mild days, cooler nights, fewer storms and, in the Ozarks and along the Missouri River, fall color. They are also peak season, so book a year or more ahead.
May and June are the other peak months, green and long-lit, but they fall in storm season, so an indoor or covered plan is essential.
For value, book January or February. The Glasshouse at River Oaks in Grandview charges $10,000 for a Saturday instead of $15,000, White Iron Ridge in Smithville $8,000 instead of $13,000, and Haue Valley near St. Louis $5,750 instead of $7,950.

Season by season
Spring (March to May)
Warming fast, and the start of severe weather season, with thunderstorms, hail and tornado watches most common from April into June. March is still a shoulder month at many venues: White Iron Ridge and the Glasshouse price it at their middle rate. Late April and May are beautiful but unpredictable.
Summer (June to August)
Hot and humid, with afternoon storms. June is still peak; July and August drop to the middle rate at venues like the Glasshouse and White Iron Ridge, and Shire Lane Estate in St. Charles prices August with its off-season months. At Lake of the Ozarks, summer is the busy resort season, so lodging books early. Plan for shade, fans and an evening ceremony.
Fall (September to November)
The peak. September is warm, October is crisp and colorful, and November is cool and starting to fall in price. Shire Lane prices November with its off-season months. Check football weekends: Mizzou home games fill Columbia hotels. In wine country, Hermann's festival weekends fill the inns.
Winter (December to February)
Cold, with occasional snow and ice. January and February are the cheapest months at most venues that publish seasonal rates. Shire Lane extends its winter rate through March, and Sycamore Creek Ranch near Branson takes 10% off from December to March. December holidays carry their own pricing at some venues.

Picking your date
- Decide whether the weather or the budget matters more. October has the best weather; January and February are the cheapest.
- For spring, book an indoor or covered fallback. Storms are common.
- Check Mizzou's schedule near Columbia and the festival calendar in Hermann.
- For a fall wedding, book 12 to 18 months out. Some venues, like Haue Valley, keep peak Saturdays for all-inclusive packages only.
