Privacy Policy
Last updated: May 8, 2026
The Wedding Dossier ("we," "us," "our") provides personalized wedding vendor recommendations. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. We do not sell your personal information.
Information we collect
When you use The Wedding Dossier, we collect:
- Account information— your name and email address, provided through our authentication partner Clerk when you sign up or sign in (including via Google Sign-In).
- Wedding preferences— the answers you submit during onboarding (style, budget, guest count, location, vendor priorities, and similar planning details), used to generate your personalized recommendations.
- Activity within the product— favorites, comparisons, and vendors you mark as contacted or booked.
- Basic technical data— standard server logs (IP address, browser type, request paths) for security and reliability. We do not use advertising trackers or third-party analytics that profile you across sites.
How we use your information
- To generate and display your personalized vendor recommendations.
- To save your favorites and outreach status across sessions.
- To improve the matching algorithm and product (in aggregate, never on identifiable individuals).
- To respond to support requests you send us.
Third-party services
We use a small set of trusted infrastructure providers. Each only receives the minimum data needed to perform its role:
- Clerk — authentication and account management.
- Google — optional sign-in via Google OAuth.
- Neon — managed Postgres database hosting.
- Vercel — web application hosting.
- Google Places API — used to gather public vendor information. We do not send your personal data to this service.
- Anthropic (Claude) — used to summarize public vendor websites. We do not send your personal data to this service.
Cookies
We use only essential cookies required for sign-in and session management. We do not use advertising cookies or cross-site tracking pixels.
Your choices

- If you are a California or EEA resident, you have additional rights to access, correct, or delete your information — we will honor those requests on the same channel.
Data retention
We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. After deletion, we remove personal information within 30 days, except where retention is required by law (e.g., financial records, fraud prevention).
