1. Ninth Floor Club + Venue

A top-floor club on North Broadway downtown with skyline views, seating 225 (400 standing), with a nine-story glass atrium for photos. A $5,000 facility fee covers exclusive use, linens, china, glassware, a dance floor, sound and a coordinator; food and drink from its in-house team are priced separately.

2. Atreeum Greenhouse Venue

A botanical garden venue in Valley Center filled with tropical plants, with retractable side walls, a courtyard and a pond. Saturday $7,800, Friday $6,800, Sunday $5,800, or $8,800 for Friday and Saturday, for a 15-hour day with wooden tables and a bar.

3. The Highlands

A venue in Valley Center with indoor and outdoor ceremony sites, bride and groom suites, a photo booth and coordination staff included. Saturday $9,000 and Friday $7,500 for 16 hours, down to $5,500 Monday to Wednesday. Two-day rentals are $9,500 to $11,500, and from December to March a two-day rental costs the same as one day.

4. The Oaks

A 4,800-square-foot lodge in Valley Center for 150, five miles from Wichita hotels, with a bridal suite cabin open from 7am. Saturday $6,500, Friday $5,500, and $1,000 less in January and February.

5. The Barn at Grace Hill

A white barn near Newton with 300 chairs, a 1,000-square-foot bridal suite, two covered patios and a permanent bar. Saturday $6,300, Friday or Sunday $5,300, and $3,000 on weekdays. A Friday-Saturday Premium package with a day-of coordinator is $9,500.

6. Gooseberry Creek

A venue near Sedgwick with an outdoor ceremony area, an air chapel and a creek cabin, sold by days with overnight stays. $8,500 from Friday noon to Sunday noon with two cabin nights, $7,100 for all day Saturday, and $6,100 for a Friday or Sunday. Open catering.

7. Stone Hill Barn

A barn and open-air chapel near Augusta with a main house and a groomsmen lounge. Saturday $6,500, or $7,000 for two days with a night in The Cottage and $7,500 for three days with two nights. Weekdays are $3,000.

8. The Barns at Timber Creek

Two barns near Winfield, southeast of Wichita, with a 200-chair reception barn and outdoor chapel. The $5,000 package includes two nights of lodging with breakfast for 20, and the $8,000 package adds a coordinator, setup help and designated drivers. Open catering; cash or check only.

9. Wyldewood Cellars

A winery south of Wichita with a Vineyard Hall for 200, open 9am to midnight for $2,000, with tables, linens, separate getting-ready rooms and no fees for outside catering or alcohol.

Others worth a look

The Cotillion is the round ballroom on West Kellogg that has hosted events since 1960. The Ivory Chateau in Newton starts at $7,800 on a Saturday. And Brightwater Bay is an event venue in south Wichita.

How to shop Wichita venues

Look at the weekdays. Grace Hill and Stone Hill rent weekdays for $3,000, half their Saturday.

Value the lodging. Gooseberry Creek, Stone Hill and Timber Creek include overnight stays in their weekend packages.
