The Best Months to Get Married in Kansas (2026 Seasonal Guide)
Kansas has a short list of truly reliable wedding months. Spring is storm season, high summer is hot and windy, and winter is cold. The weeks in between, especially in fall, are excellent.
Kansas venues price that calendar openly. Many charge peak rates only in May, June, September and October, and treat July and August as off-season alongside winter.
The quick answer
September and October are the best months to get married in Kansas. Warm days, cool nights, fewer storms and golden prairie grass. They are also peak season, so book a year or more ahead.
May and June are the other peak months, green and long-lit, but they fall in severe-storm season, so an indoor plan is essential.
For value, book July, August or winter. Cedar Valley Forest near Kansas City charges $7,400 instead of $8,400 on a July Saturday, and Chrisman Manor and Circle S Ranch near Lawrence discount July and August. In winter, The Foundry in Topeka takes 25% off from January to March and Bourgmont Winery drops from $11,500 to $7,250.

Season by season
Spring (March to May)
Warming fast, and the start of severe weather season, with thunderstorms, hail and tornado watches most common from April into June. In the Flint Hills, ranchers burn the prairie in early spring, and the hills turn a vivid green afterward. Late May is beautiful but unpredictable.
Summer (June to August)
Hot, often windy, with afternoon storms. June is still peak at most venues; July and August are hot enough that many venues discount them. Plan for shade, fans and an evening ceremony.
Fall (September to November)
The peak. September is warm and stable, October is crisp with the prairie turning gold, and November is cool and cheaper. Check football weekends: K-State home games fill Manhattan and KU games fill Lawrence.
Winter (December to March)
Cold and windy, with occasional snow and ice. It is the cheapest season, and indoor halls and climate-controlled barns are built for it. The Highlands near Wichita charges one day's rate for a two-day rental from December to March.
