How Much Does a Wedding Cost in Pennsylvania? (2026 Data)
Pennsylvania has two big wedding markets at either end of the turnpike, Philadelphia and Pittsburgh, and a long middle of farm country, mountains and college towns. Philadelphia and the Poconos run highest at the median, and Harrisburg and Lancaster are the value markets.
Pennsylvania photographers publish prices often, more than half of the state's listed photographers. Venues publish less often, about one in seven, though those that do often post full rate sheets by season and day.
Every figure here comes from a price a Pennsylvania vendor published on their own website, with the sample size attached.
The short answer
A Pennsylvania wedding's venue, photographer, flowers, DJ, basic catering and cake for 100 guests come to roughly $16,000 at the median published price in each category. Add the bar, full-service catering, attire and the rest, and most Pennsylvania weddings likely land between $30,000 and $45,000 all in.
What each vendor costs in Pennsylvania
These are published rates taken from Pennsylvania vendor websites. The typical range runs from the median vendor's starting price to the median vendor's top published price; the full range is the lowest and highest price any vendor published.
| Category | Typical published range | Full range | Vendors publishing |
|---|---|---|---|
| Venue | $4,965 to $6,975 | $1,500 to $61,500 | 113 of 750 |
| Photographer | $2,800 to $4,000 | $500 to $25,000 | 184 of 341 |
| Caterer (per guest) | $30 to $50 | $20 to $250 | 31 of 329 |
| Florist | $3,500 to $5,000 | $500 to $18,000 | 23 of 352 |
| Cake (per serving) | $6 to $7 | $3 to $16 | 24 of 276 |
| DJ | $1,500 to $2,500 | $500 to $25,000 | 47 of 185 |
Photographers, venues and DJs are well measured, at 184, 113 and 47. Caterers, cakes and florists are thinner, at 31, 24 and 23. The florist figure is the price of a full wedding package rather than a typical florist bill, and the catering figure mixes buffets with full service.

The regional split
Eight Pennsylvania regions had at least five venues publishing a price.
| Region | Median published venue package | Sample |
|---|---|---|
| Philadelphia Metro | $6,000 | n=23 |
| The Poconos | $6,000 | n=5 |
| Pittsburgh Metro | $5,500 | n=13 |
| State College & Central Pennsylvania | $5,500 | n=13 |
| Reading & Berks County | $5,000 | n=5 |
| Laurel Highlands | $4,990 | n=9 |
| Lancaster County | $4,350 | n=16 |
| Harrisburg & Hershey | $3,875 | n=14 |
Philadelphia and the Poconos are the most expensive Pennsylvania markets at the median, and Pittsburgh and State College sit just below. Lancaster and Harrisburg are the value markets, where several venues publish weekday rates under $5,000.
Photographers follow a different pattern: $3,500 in Pittsburgh (n=26), $3,145 in Lancaster (n=14), $2,950 in State College (n=12), $2,900 in Philadelphia (n=61) and $2,750 in Harrisburg (n=15). Philadelphia caterers publish a median of $55 a guest (n=13), and DJs run $1,795 in Philadelphia (n=13) and $1,345 in Pittsburgh (n=12).
Our venue guides cover each region: Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Lancaster County, the Poconos, Harrisburg and Hershey, State College and the Laurel Highlands.
The venues that publish under $1,500
Our venue table starts at $1,500. Below it are 23 Pennsylvania venues publishing starting prices under $1,500, with a median of $1,000: chapels, park buildings, small halls and short rentals. Gloria Dei (Old Swedes') Church in Philadelphia, for one, rents its sanctuary for $750 for six hours. They suit a ceremony or a small wedding, but they are a different product from a full reception venue, so we count them separately.
The top of the market
The highest Pennsylvania prices are all-inclusive packages, weekends with lodging and peak Saturdays:
- The Lake House Inn on Lake Nockamixon starts its in-season Friday and Saturday packages, with food and an open bar, at $61,500 for 135 guests.
- Wedding Venue Pocono at Leisure Lake charges from $20,450 for a gazebo wedding with two nights for 40.
- The Star Barn in Elizabethtown runs to $14,990 in September and October.
- Bramblewood near Pittsburgh charges $14,900 for a Saturday over 200 guests.
- The Grayson House near Uniontown charges $11,000 for a 2028 Saturday reception.
Putting a Pennsylvania budget together
Here is the median published price in each category, for 100 guests.
| Line item | Median-price build |
|---|---|
| Venue | $4,965 |
| Photography | $2,800 |
| Flowers | $3,500 |
| DJ | $1,500 |
| Catering (100 x $30) | $3,000 |
| Cake (100 x $6) | $600 |
| Subtotal | $16,365 |
The flowers line comes from 23 florists and is likely high for a simple order; the catering line is likely low, because it is a starting price before staff, rentals and the bar. Then add the bar, attire, rings, stationery, hair and makeup and gratuities. See our wedding budget breakdown for where the rest goes, and the budget spreadsheet template to work your own numbers.
Where Pennsylvania couples save
Get married in winter. The Star Barn's January-to-March range starts at $4,990 against $8,990 in the fall, the Lake House Inn's off-season packages start at $42,800 instead of $61,500, and Duportail House near King of Prussia lowers its Saturday from December to March.
Book a weekday or a Sunday. Moonstone Manor in Elizabethtown is $4,965 Monday to Thursday against $8,265 on a Saturday, Pinehall at Eisler Farms near Butler $3,900 Sunday to Thursday against $7,900, and Bramblewood's Sunday is $5,000 less than its Saturday.
Bring your own. Pinehall and Whispering Pines of Carlisle let you supply the alcohol, and Moonstone Manor lets you choose your caterer.
Go small. Moonstone Manor's weekday elopement for 10 is $600, and the Mansion at Noble Lane in the Poconos offers one for $1,200.
A note on timing
September and October are peak season at most Pennsylvania venues, and several charge a fall premium. We cover the tradeoffs in the best months to get married in Pennsylvania.
How we built these numbers
We cataloged Pennsylvania wedding vendors across 12 regions, crawled their websites, and used a language model to pull structured pricing out of the text they publish. Every figure comes from a price a vendor put on their own website, and the venue prices quoted in this guide were checked against the venues' sites when it was written. Nothing is estimated from national surveys.
The known bias is worth stating: vendors who publish prices are not a random sample. Publishing correlates with being mid-market and transparent, and the top of any market rarely publishes. Our medians likely sit below the true center of each category. Read them as a well-sourced floor.
