The Best Months to Get Married in Pennsylvania (2026 Seasonal Guide)

·3 min read

Pennsylvania has four full seasons. Winters are cold and snowy, heaviest in the mountains and the northwest; spring is wet; summer is warm and humid; and fall is the best of the year, with color from the Poconos to the Laurel Highlands.

Pennsylvania venues price that calendar in the open. Most charge their top rates in September and October, and many drop them from January to March, with a few cutting July and August as well.

The quick answer

September and October are the best months to get married in Pennsylvania. Mild days, cool nights, low humidity and fall foliage. They are also the most expensive months, and several venues charge a premium for them.

May and June are the other classic months, green and long-lit, with some rain.

For value, book January to March. The Star Barn in Elizabethtown starts at $4,990 then against $8,990 in the fall, the Manor at Mountain View near Harrisburg charges $4,500 for a winter weekend against $6,000 for a peak Saturday, and the Lake House Inn's off-season packages start $18,700 lower.

For what those months cost, see how much a Pennsylvania wedding costs.

Season by season

Spring (March to May)

Cool and rainy in March and April, warming in May. Many venues stay at winter rates through March, and the Manor at Mountain View prices April between winter and peak. Hershey Gardens opens its tent and outdoor sites in April. May is peak at most venues.

Summer (June to August)

Warm and humid, with afternoon storms. June is peak. July and August are discounted at some venues: the Lake House Inn prices them as off-season, the Manor at Mountain View drops them below its spring and fall rate, and the Mansions on Fifth in Pittsburgh has a Summer Solstice package.

Fall (September to November)

The peak. September is warm, October is crisp and colorful, and November turns cold. The Star Barn's September and October range runs to $14,990, and Bramblewood near Pittsburgh and the Grayson House near Uniontown both add a fall premium. Check football weekends: Penn State home games fill every hotel in State College. In the Poconos and Laurel Highlands, foliage weekends fill the inns.

Winter (December to February)

Cold, with snow, heavier in the mountains. This is the cheapest season: Duportail House near King of Prussia lowers its rates from December to March, the View at Six Mile near State College takes $850 off, and the Mansions on Fifth offers a McCook package from January to April.

  3. Check Penn State's schedule near State College, and book fall lodging early in the Poconos and Laurel Highlands.
  4. For winter in the mountains, plan for snow. Pocono and Laurel Highlands roads can close.
