7 Best Wedding Venues in the Metro East: Belleville, Edwardsville and Alton (2026 Guide)

·4 min read

The Metro East, the Illinois side of the St. Louis area, gives St. Louis couples a cheaper and often more scenic option 20 to 45 minutes from downtown.

The median published venue starting price here is $3,000 (n=5), a small sample, and the rate cards below show why: barns where you bring your own drinks, and a restored factory that includes bartenders in its price. Up the Great River Road, Grafton and the bluffs over the Mississippi add a state park lodge and a lakeside winery.

We cataloged 37 wedding venues across Belleville, Edwardsville, Alton, Highland, Grafton and Waterloo. Below are the 7 we would point a couple to first, each checked against the venue's own site.

Every venue below is in our Metro East wedding venue directory, where you can filter the full list and see published pricing side by side.

Others worth a look

How to shop Metro East venues

Compare against St. Louis. For a St. Louis wedding, the Illinois side often costs less for more space, and Highland and Belleville are 30 to 40 minutes from downtown.

Count the bartenders. The Olde Wicks Factory includes them; Schwarz Barn lets you bring your own drinks. Both change the total.

Plan the river towns. Grafton gets busy on fall weekends with visitors for the bluffs and orchards. Book rooms early. Our venue tour questions cover the rest.

Our venue checklist covers the rest of the shopping list, and what a wedding venue costs explains how venue pricing is structured.
