1. Wildlife Prairie Park

A park in Hanna City, west of Peoria, voted Peoria's best event venue in 2025, with ceremony sites overlooking its bison and elk herds and reception rooms for every size:

• Prairie Hall, the largest, with a fireplace and dance floor: 250
• Hespell Deck, with walls that lift to open the dance floor outside: 200
• Adventure Hall, a renovated general store: 80

Guests can stay in cabins, grain bins and train cabooses (20% off when you book three cabins), and you can add a meet-and-greet with an animal ambassador ($150) or a trek through the bison pasture ($300). Rental by quote, with a long list of preferred caterers.

2. Luthy Botanical Garden

The Peoria Park District's garden, with seven wedding settings: the Rose Garden with its fountain for 300, the Woodland Garden for 200, the Orangery greenhouse for 150, an amphitheater for 125-plus, the Conservatory for 60 in the evening, and smaller garden spots down to a gazebo for 20. 3. The Gateway Building

Peoria's riverfront event space a few blocks from downtown, catered by Childers. A $4,000 room rental deposit books the date, and tastings are $75 for up to five people. You can use Childers' bar service but don't have to. Couples typically book about eight months ahead.

4. Soderstrom Castle

A private castle on Grandview Drive in Peoria Heights, built by Helen Chubbuck Lusk with masons brought from Europe, in Romanesque and Gothic style, and owned by just four families across three generations. You can book part of the castle or all of it. Pricing on its reservation page.

5. Trailside Event Center

A 6,000-square-foot ballroom above Trefzger's Bakery in Peoria Heights, for up to 250, in an 1895 building with restored pine floors, exposed brick and beams, and a green space with old train rails beside the Rock Island Trail. There are discounts Monday to Wednesday and a Thursday-Friday package; pricing on request.

6. The Warehouse on State

An industrial event center in Peoria's Warehouse District, for up to 350, walking distance from the river, bars and hotels, with catering by Cracked Pepper. Pricing on request.

7. The Cannery

A venue in Eureka, east of Peoria, with three spaces: the Main Space for weddings, the Crate for showers and rehearsal dinners, and the Grove for cocktail hour. Pricing on request.
