11 Best Wedding Venues in Vail, Breckenridge and Winter Park (2026 Guide)
This is the most expensive wedding market in Colorado, and the published numbers show exactly how expensive.
The median published venue starting price across Vail, Beaver Creek, Breckenridge and Grand County is $15,000 (n=6), several times the Front Range median. At the top, Sonnenalp Vail lists wedding budgets of $40,000 to $100,000, and Devil's Thumb Ranch near Winter Park publishes a summer site fee from $40,000 plus a food and beverage minimum from $80,000.
But this region also has a $500 chapel, ranch barns at $6,500 midweek, and a lodge that sleeps 37 for a weekend. The gap between the resort weddings and the ranch weddings is wider here than anywhere else in the state, and choosing between them is the decision that sets your budget.
Six prices is a small sample, so treat $15,000 as a direction rather than a firm figure.
We cataloged 20 wedding venues across Vail, Beaver Creek, Breckenridge, Keystone, Winter Park, Granby and Grand Lake. Below are the 11 we would point a couple to first.

The resorts
1. Sonnenalp Vail
A European-style resort hotel in Vail with Ludwig's Terrace (retractable roof and walls), the Grand Bavaria ballroom, creekside gardens and a Swiss chalet. It publishes wedding budget ranges of $40,000 to $100,000 for the site fee plus food and beverage minimum, for up to 160 guests.
Two rules matter. No weddings in January, February or March, and a planner or day-of coordinator is required. The site fee includes two junior suite nights.
2. Devil's Thumb Ranch Resort & Spa
A 6,500-acre ranch resort near Winter Park with a Western look, built around weekend-long weddings: welcome party Friday, ceremony and reception in the High Lonesome Barn Saturday, brunch Sunday. Up to 220 guests with a band or 250 with a DJ. For summer and fall 2026:
- Site fee from $40,000, June to October
- Food and beverage minimum from $80,000
- The 35-room High Lonesome Lodge, two-night minimum, from $500 a night
That is a $120,000 floor before lodging, which makes it one of the most expensive published weddings we have found anywhere. From January to May and in November and December, a la carte events start at $5,000, so the off-season is a different conversation entirely.
3. The Ritz-Carlton, Bachelor Gulch
The ski-in, ski-out resort near Beaver Creek, with 18 event rooms, a ballroom for 600, terraces, the Skiers Bridge and a historic cabin. Pricing by inquiry, with Marriott certified wedding planners on staff.
4. The Charter at Beaver Creek
A quarter mile from Beaver Creek Village, with an outdoor wedding deck seating 125 facing the ski mountain, on-site catering and more than 150 rooms and condos for guests. Pricing on request.
5. Manor Vail Lodge
A condominium hotel in the heart of Vail near Golden Peak, with garden ceremonies, tented receptions and a ballroom, for 10 to 240 guests, and 90 residences so guests stay together. Pricing on request.
The chapel
6. Chapel at Beaver Creek
An interfaith chapel seating about 200, plus 50 in the balcony, with an organ and a grand piano. It publishes chapel-use fees by time slot:
- Saturday 9 to 11am: $500
- Saturday 11am to 1pm: $1,000
- Saturday 6 to 8pm: $1,300
- Friday afternoon: $1,500 to $1,800
- Saturday 1 to 4pm: $2,500
Officiant fees are set separately by the sponsoring congregation. The same chapel costs five times as much at 1pm as at 9am on the same Saturday, which is about as clear a lesson in timing as the mountains offer.
The ranches of Grand County
7. Guyton Ranch
A family-owned ranch near Granby, about an hour from Denver and 35 minutes from Breckenridge, with a reception barn, a saloon and housing for 10. 24 hours, noon to noon: $6,500 on a Tuesday or Wednesday, $8,500 Thursday to Monday from June to mid-October. Tables and chairs for 200 are included, and you can bring your own alcohol, which in a resort region is a large saving.
8. The Lodge at Crestview Ranch
An 11,000-square-foot lodge near Granby that sleeps 37, with an event barn for 200 and a mountain-view ceremony site. Two-night minimum.
- Weekday collection: $8,000 off season, $12,000 peak
- Signature weekend: $10,000 off season, $16,000 peak
- Extended celebration add-on, with a welcome party and farewell brunch: $2,000 / $4,000
You can bring your own vendors. Split across 37 people who would otherwise be paying for hotel rooms, the weekend price looks very different.
9. Strawberry Creek Ranch
A 300-acre historic ranch two and a half miles from downtown Granby, facing the Continental Divide, with a 130-year-old homestead barn and a 2019 event barn for 200. Friday to Sunday $16,500, noon to 11pm, with up to five hours of bar service and a rehearsal hour the day before.
Small and in the high country
10. High Country Lodge
A 12-bedroom, 15-bathroom four-season lodge in Breckenridge, built for micro weddings up to 40 on the deck and in the Alpine Room. Wedding packages from $13,500 to $16,500 plus tax and fees, or $750 an hour for the lodge alone. You bring your own alcohol and bartenders.
11. Piney River Ranch
A 40-acre retreat on Piney Lake beneath the Gore Range, north of Vail, with a ceremony deck, a reception pavilion, six lakefront cabins and three glamping tents, for 50 to 200 guests. The package is 10 hours with in-house buffet catering, and events must end by 10pm. The road in is a long dirt one, which is part of the charm and something to warn guests about. Pricing on request.
Others worth a look
4 Eagle Ranch is a 1,000-acre nonprofit ranch about 25 miles northwest of Vail with wagon rides, horseback riding and glamping. EagleVail Pavilion, between Vail and Beaver Creek, is a self-service site with a pond, a sandy beach and a full catering kitchen, and lets you bring a food truck. Headwaters Center in Winter Park is a lakeside nonprofit venue with a water museum. And BlueSky Breckenridge sits 50 feet from the Snowflake lift on Peak 8, for up to 115.
How to shop mountain venues
Decide resort or ranch before anything else. A resort sells a site fee plus a food and beverage minimum, and both are large. A ranch sells a rental and lets you bring your own caterer, and often your own alcohol. The same 120-guest wedding can be $25,000 or $150,000 depending on which you choose.
Count the beds. Guest lodging in Vail and Breckenridge is expensive in peak season. A ranch or lodge that sleeps 20 to 40 changes the math for you and your guests. Ask about room blocks at the resorts before you sign.
Book the off-season deliberately. Devil's Thumb drops from a $40,000 site fee to $5,000 a la carte outside June to October. Late September, with the aspens turning, is peak; early June and late October are shoulders, with snow possible in both.
Plan for altitude. Vail sits around 8,150 feet and Breckenridge above 9,600. Guests from sea level feel it, especially in the first 24 hours and with alcohol. Water on every table, shade at the ceremony, and a warning in the welcome letter.
Get there before you plan. I-70 over Vail Pass and through the tunnel can close for weather, and summer weekend traffic is heavy. Ask each venue about guest shuttles and the realistic drive from Denver International Airport. Our venue tour questions cover the general version.
Our venue checklist covers the rest, and what a wedding venue costs explains how venue pricing is structured.
