11 Best Wedding Venues in Pueblo, Cañon City and Southern Colorado (2026 Guide)

·6 min read

Southern Colorado holds both ends of the state's venue market, often an hour apart.

In Pueblo, the 1889 Union Depot rents its main hall for $1,000 on a weekday and $2,000 on a Saturday. In the Wet Mountain Valley above Westcliffe, a ranch weekend with luxury cabins runs $22,000. Between them sit the ranches around Cañon City and the Royal Gorge, and the mountain valleys near Trinidad.

That spread is why the region's median published starting price, $6,500 (n=10), says less than usual. Most of the venues that publish are destination ranches in the mountains, and they pull the figure up. The city of Pueblo itself is one of the more affordable places to get married in Colorado.

We cataloged 33 wedding venues across Pueblo, Cañon City, Westcliffe, Rye, Trinidad and the San Luis Valley. Below are the 11 we would point a couple to first.

Every venue below is in our Pueblo wedding venue directory, where you can filter the full list and see published pricing side by side.

In Pueblo

1. Pueblo Union Depot

The 1889 depot downtown, with a high-ceilinged main hall, a wraparound bar and the original floor tile. Everything is published:

  • Hall rental $1,000 weekdays and Sundays, $1,500 Friday, $2,000 Saturday
  • Ceremony $500
  • In-house buffet $26.99 per person for one entree, $29.99 for two
  • Bartenders $20 an hour per 100 guests

A Saturday wedding for 120 with a two-entree buffet comes to roughly $6,100 before linens and the bar. That is a complete reception for less than many venues charge for the room. The historic building does not allow tacks, nails, glue or tape on the walls.

2. Watertower Place

A converted Nuckolls Packing Company plant at 303 South Santa Fe, in the Grove neighborhood beside the Riverwalk, with the building's history on life-size storyboards. More than 25,000 square feet inside and 60,000 square feet of terraces look over Pueblo toward Pikes Peak, for 11 to 300 guests. Pricing on request.

3. Orman Mansion

An 1889 red sandstone mansion built by James Orman, later governor of Colorado, gated on an acre less than a mile from the Riverwalk. It has more than 5,000 square feet of formal sitting and dining rooms in an Art Deco and Victorian mix, a secluded inner courtyard and eight bedrooms with private baths, so the family can stay where the wedding is. It books like a vacation rental, through its own site. Pricing on request.

4. Soda Creek Ranch

A family property about 25 minutes from downtown Pueblo with a barn, a gazebo and mountain views, and cabins for the couple and wedding party. The 2027 and 2028 packages:

  • Weekday hourly $1,200 for five hours
  • Single day $3,500, 8am to midnight, Monday to Thursday
  • Weekday wedding $5,500, spanning three days
  • Weekend wedding $6,500, Friday noon to Sunday noon

5. Hatchet Ranch

$5,000 for a three-day package for up to 200, with the barn, bar, ceremony area, setup and rehearsal time, tables, chairs, an arch and decorations. There are no catering restrictions. The historic barn has no insulation or air conditioning, so the season runs May to mid-October, and there is a no open flame policy.

Cañon City and the Royal Gorge

6. Marchand Ranch

A working cattle ranch with mountain views and one rate per day, with no hidden fees or required gratuities: $8,900 Sunday to Thursday, $10,400 Friday, $10,900 Saturday, with all remaining 2026 dates at $5,000 and $1,500 off summer 2027. It includes a professional day-of coordinator, getting-ready suites, a shed of borrowable decor and an on-site bar where you can bring your own alcohol, and 2027 weddings come with a first night at the Hotel St. Cloud or the Royal Gorge RV Resort. You choose your own caterer, florist and DJ.

7. Lost Pond

A private 35-acre site near Cañon City with a pond, a stream, a waterfall and a string-lit reception tent. $6,500 for 8am to midnight, with tables, chairs, linens, setup, cleanup, a luxury restroom trailer and a lemonade station. Bring your own caterer and your own alcohol.

8. Royal Gorge Mansion

An 1882-84 estate on the National Register, with Victorian interiors, four guest rooms and four acres of grounds with a gazebo and fountain. Grounds from $8,000 Monday to Thursday and $10,000 Friday to Sunday. Up to 75 inside and several hundred outside, and you pick your own vendors.

The mountain valleys

9. Brush Canyon Ranch

A working ranch near Rye at 7,500 feet, with a creek, pines and aspens, a timber-frame gazebo and an open-air pavilion. Every package is 12 hours of exclusive use:

  • One day, up to 100 guests: $3,000 Monday to Thursday, $5,000 Friday or Sunday, $6,000 Saturday (about $500 more for 101 to 200)
  • Two-day weekday retreat from $5,500, two-day weekend from $9,500, with lodging for 14-plus, camping, a golf cart and a day-of coordinator

You can bring your own vendors and your own alcohol for guests, and the season runs late May to mid-October.

10. Three Peaks Ranch

A modern ranch near Westcliffe with a glass pavilion, a boardwalk to the ceremony site and four luxury cabins sleeping eight.

  • Elopement $5,000 for up to 10, with two nights in a cabin
  • Single day $16,000, 14 hours, under 100 guests
  • Weekend packages $19,000 to $22,000, three days and two nights

The top of the Southern Colorado market. Massage and yoga can be added for the wedding party.

11. The Historic Pines Ranch

A historic ranch at about 8,000 feet in the Sangre de Cristo Mountains, run by a nonprofit that preserves it, and one of the clearest DIY offers in the state:

  • Day-of event, $6,500: a ceremony site, the dance hall and the dining hall with its commercial kitchen
  • Two-night DIY destination wedding, $13,500: exclusive use of the ranch, a honeymoon cabin, lodging for 38 in three family cabins, the dance hall for 150, tables, chairs and borrowable rustic decor

There are three ceremony sites: the sunny Valley View Meadow, the Front Lawn and a shaded Aspen Grove. Discounts go to military, teachers, first responders, medical staff and foster and adoptive families. Peak-season tours are Sundays and Mondays only.

Others worth a look

In Pueblo itself, The Abriendo Inn is a circa-1906 mansion with seven suites and elopement packages. Grandote sits on 300 acres at the base of the Spanish Peaks with a 100-year-old pole barn and a four-bedroom log lodge. The Well Hotel & Taproom in Trinidad is a restored 1888 Main Street building with 12 rooms for guests. El Pueblo History Museum has a re-created 1840s adobe trading post and plaza and lets you hire your own caterer. And The Barn at Manzanilla Farm is half a mile outside Alamosa in the San Luis Valley, with air conditioning and a four-bedroom guesthouse.

How to shop Southern Colorado venues

Decide city or mountain first. A Pueblo hall and a Wet Mountain Valley ranch are both "Southern Colorado", but one is a $2,000 Saturday and the other a $22,000 weekend. They are different weddings.

Count the nights. Soda Creek, Hatchet Ranch, Brush Canyon and Three Peaks all sell multi-day packages. If the price covers setup the day before and a Sunday brunch, it can be a better deal than a single-day venue that charges for extra hours.

Check the season. The ranches without heat or insulation book May to mid-October only, and the mountain sites close for snow. Ask for the season dates before you set your heart on a place.

Ask about fire. Summer fire restrictions are common across the region, and some ranches ban open flame year-round. Plan your send-off and candles around the rule. Our venue tour questions cover the general version.

Our venue checklist covers the rest, and what a wedding venue costs explains how venue pricing is structured.
