11 Best Wedding Venues in Midland & Odessa (2026 Guide)

The Permian Basin is the smallest wedding market in Texas by published inventory, and it runs on oil. When crude is up, the hotels fill with contractors and wedding weekends get harder to book. When it is down, everything loosens. No other Texas market has that particular rhythm.

A caveat before anything else. Only three Midland and Odessa venues publish a starting price we can use. Three is nowhere near enough to quote a market median, and we are not going to invent one. This is a phone-call market. What follows describes properties, and where a venue publishes real figures we give them in full.

The distinctive rooms

1. Hotel Settles

A historic luxury hotel in Big Spring with more than 15,000 square feet of event space, including a restored Grand Ballroom and a scenic Pavilion, plus on-site catering and guest accommodations. Capacity 12 to 300.

This is the best wedding venue in West Texas and it is not close. A 1930s skyscraper hotel restored to genuine luxury, in a town of 25,000, an hour from both Midland and Odessa. If you want a wedding that looks like nothing else in the region, this is the property.

Wedding pricing is by inquiry. Pool cabanas rent at $75 for three hours or $200 for the day, which is a useful add-on for a weekend event.

2. Ellen Noël Art Museum

An Odessa art museum renting its classrooms, community room, garden and galleries. 4.7 stars, and the only fully published rate card in the Permian Basin:

Premium upgrades are published too: Boardroom at $250 per hour, Expanded Classroom Access $250, Day-Of Event Coordinator $800, additional event hours $300 per hour, and additional setup and cleanup access $200 per hour. Photography permits are $85 per 30-minute session.

A $500 weekday wedding in an art museum is the best small-wedding value in West Texas, and the ladder up to $7,000 means the same venue works for a full Saturday reception.

3. White-Pool House

A historic Odessa venue built around a restored Victorian farmhouse, with a barn and garden for ceremonies and receptions, plus an optional Victorian Bridal Ready Room.

The oldest surviving house in Odessa, and the region's only genuine period property outside Big Spring.

4. The Destination Midland

A creative vintage-rustic venue with themed outdoor patios, live music and private party rentals. 4.8 stars, outdoor.

Eclectic and artsy in a market that mostly offers hotel ballrooms, and the right answer for a wedding that does not want to look like a corporate event.

The large and full-service options

5. MCM Grande Hotel & Fundome Odessa

An Odessa hotel with a large indoor event space and an outdoor pavilion, on-site catering and guest rooms. Capacity to 1,800, by far the largest in the Permian Basin.

If your guest list is genuinely large, this is the only room in the region that comfortably holds it.

6. MCM Eleganté Hotel Odessa

A full-service hotel with event space for 10 to 400 guests, customisable packages, on-site dining and off-site catering options. The practical mid-size hotel choice, and having rooms attached matters in a market where guests often fly into Midland.

7. Bush Convention Center

A modern Midland venue with a ballroom, exhibit hall, meeting rooms, pre-function space and a green room. Capacity to 250, 4.7 stars.

One useful detail: the rental fee includes tables and chairs, with additional equipment included if requested at least 14 days before the event. That lead time is worth noting on your planning calendar.

8. Far West Event Center

An Odessa event space hosting weddings, Sweet 16s, anniversaries and corporate events. Pricing on request.

Smaller and casual

9. Cafe at the Gardens

A Midland cafe and event venue with a garden setting, a greenhouse patio and private gathering space. Menu items run $14 to $25, which gives you a sense of the catering level. Well suited to a rehearsal dinner or a small reception.

10. The Shack in The Back

An Odessa rental space that explicitly hosts weddings and receptions, with a patio and rooftop rental option. Casual, outdoor, and the rooftop is unusual for the market.

11. Amarillo and Lubbock, if you will drive

The Permian Basin is genuinely short on venues, and Lubbock is under two hours from Midland. Abilene in particular publishes a real venue median on a usable sample, which this region does not.

What to ask on a Permian Basin tour

Ask about the oil calendar and hotel availability. This is specific to this market. When activity is high, Midland and Odessa hotel rooms are expensive and scarce because they are full of contractors on long stays. Before you set a date, check what a block of 20 rooms actually costs on that weekend. It can be the largest single variable in a Permian Basin wedding budget.

Ask what the rental includes. The Bush Convention Center includes tables and chairs. Many venues here do not, and the nearest rental companies are a drive away, which makes delivery a real cost.

Ask about weekday rates explicitly. The Ellen Noël's weekday and weekend prices differ by a third at the top tier and by $250 at the bottom. In a small market, midweek availability is good and the discounts are worth taking.

Consider Big Spring. Hotel Settles is an hour from both cities and it is the region's standout property. For a wedding where guests are travelling anyway, the extra hour is not the obstacle it seems.
