16 Best Wedding Venues in Tyler & East Texas (2026 Guide)
East Texas gets treated as the budget option, and the data does not support it.
Tyler and East Texas venues publish a median starting package of $3,288 across 48 priced venues, the third-deepest sample in the state after Dallas-Fort Worth and Houston. That is only 17 percent below Houston and it sits above Abilene, Corpus Christi and San Antonio. The Piney Woods barn-and-ranch economy here is priced as a product, not as a discount.
What East Texas genuinely is, more than anywhere else in rural Texas, is transparent. Venues here publish day-by-day rate cards, sale pricing, all-in estimates, and hourly micro-wedding rates. You can budget an East Texas wedding from your laptop in a way you cannot budget a West Texas one.
We cataloged 134 wedding venues across East Texas. Below are the 16 we would point a couple to first.
Every venue below is in our East Texas wedding venue directory, where you can filter the full list and see published pricing side by side.

The venues that publish a full rate card
1. The Black Oak
A new elegant-rustic venue in Sulphur Springs with a climate-controlled chapel, a 3,400 square foot reception hall and outdoor ceremony spaces for up to 200. 4.9 stars.
Standard packages: Saturday $7,900, Friday $6,900, Sunday $6,500. Weekday packages are $2,500 with nine hours of rental, and other events start at $1,500.
The interesting part is that the venue also publishes sale pricing: Saturday $5,500, Friday $4,500, Sunday $3,500. That is a 30 to 46 percent discount off list, published openly. If you are shopping East Texas, ask every venue whether a sale rate exists, because at least one publishes one.
2. The Villa Tyler
A Tuscan-inspired venue in Tyler with outdoor garden and indoor ceremony options, a large reception room, and bridal and groom suites. Capacity 100 to 350.
Published all-inclusive packages: Friday $6,500, Saturday $7,500, Sunday $5,500, each including ceremony, reception tables, chairs, linens, 13 hours of venue access, and both suites. Weekday pricing is by inquiry.
Thirteen hours is a genuinely long block, and having linens included removes a rental line most venues leave you to fill.
3. Sunset Oaks Venue
A family-owned all-inclusive venue in Tyler with an open-air chapel, an outdoor ceremony option and a climate-controlled indoor reception. Decor, tables, chairs and on-site staff included. Capacity to 175, 4.9 stars.
Rental starts at $3,500 to $6,500 with seasonal date-based pricing. More useful, and rarer, is that the venue publishes what the whole wedding costs: a Saturday wedding for 125 guests typically runs couples $15,000 to $20,000 or more all in, while resourceful couples have spent $12,000 to $15,000.
Almost no venue in Texas will tell you that. It is the single most useful sentence on any East Texas venue website.
4. Sunrise Point at Cedar Creek Lake
An adults-only lakeside cottage retreat on a private peninsula in Malakoff, with lakefront ceremony and reception space and cottages included for the wedding weekend. Outdoor, capacity to 150, 4.9 stars.
The "Under the Stars" package is $12,000, sales tax included, for up to 150 guests. An optional 12 to 15 minute fireworks display is $2,000.
That is the top of the published East Texas market, and for a weekend-long lakeside wedding with lodging it is competitive with Hill Country buyouts.
5. Wylde Acres
A family-run venue on 16 wooded acres near Longview with cozy indoor and outdoor wedding and elopement packages. 4.9 stars.
Pricing starts at $3,950 for elopement packages, and the venue offers in-house financing at 0 percent interest, which we have not seen published anywhere else in Texas. For couples who would otherwise put a deposit on a credit card, that is a materially better deal than it sounds.
The value end
6. Longview Arboretum and Nature Center
A 26-acre arboretum with indoor and outdoor spaces, capacity 10 to 75, 4.8 stars. It publishes the most granular hourly rate card in the state:
| Space | Rate | Additional hour |
|---|---|---|
| Micro-wedding, 1 hr, up to 10 guests | $50 | n/a |
| Lecture Hall or Classroom, 2 hrs | $150 | $25 |
| Komatsu or WhichWay Garden, 2 hrs | $250 | $100 |
| Hilltop Gazebo or Waters Edge Stage, 2 hrs | $500 | $150 |
A $50 ceremony is the lowest published wedding price we found anywhere in Texas. For a courthouse-alternative with actual gardens, nothing else comes close.
7. Pickers Pavilion
A historic downtown Lindale event space: a large air-conditioned pavilion with a maximum capacity of 540 and a flat daily rental of $800 to $1,500.
Five hundred guests for under $1,500 is the best raw capacity-per-dollar in East Texas. You are bringing everything else yourself, which is the trade.
8. The Reserve Event Center
A Longview event center with an indoor ballroom and outdoor pavilion for up to 300, 4.8 stars.
The rental is unusually complete: tables and chairs, one-time setup, cleanup, access from 8am to midnight, pavilion, ballroom, large bridal room, groom's room, commercial kitchen with ice maker, sound system with projection and PA, LED and ambient lighting, and decorations.
Critically, it allows outside food and alcohol. In a market where most venues require in-house catering or an approved list, that single term can save several thousand dollars.
Country clubs and resorts
9. Cascades Country Club
A modern luxury golf community in Tyler with course-side outdoor ceremony locations, indoor rain-plan options, and custom dining from an executive chef. Capacity to 700, the largest club capacity in East Texas.
10. High Hill Resort Community
A luxury resort near Tyler in a piney-woods setting with on-site catering. Capacity 60 to 1,000, 4.9 stars. The largest single-property range in the region.
11. Willow Brook Country Club
A Tyler club established in 1922, with banquet rooms and full-service dining. The oldest venue on this list and a classic choice for a traditional Tyler wedding.
12. Sulphur Springs Country Club
A grand ballroom with views over an 18-hole course and a private lake, with in-house catering, setup and coordination.
Historic and distinctive
13. The Fredonia Hotel & Convention Center
A restored mid-century modern hotel in downtown Nacogdoches with multiple indoor event spaces and a large convention center. Capacity 24 to 1,000. Hotel packages run $189 to $310, which is a useful anchor for what your guests will pay.
The Fredonia is a genuine landmark and the anchor of the Nacogdoches market. For a wedding where most guests travel, having the hotel and the reception in the same building solves a lot.
14. Millard's Crossing Historic Village
An 1895 Victorian farmhouse in Nacogdoches, seating 50 for a plated reception or up to 100 buffet-style, with tent options for larger outdoor gatherings. Small, historic and specific.
15. Rowdy Creek Ranch Winery
An East Texas vineyard and ranch venue near Gilmer with indoor and outdoor spaces, a working winery, and on-site lodging in cabins, cottages and glamping campers. 4.9 stars.
The best wine-country-style option outside the Hill Country, and the lodging makes it work as a weekend.
16. Mill Creek Ranch Resort
A resort in Canton with indoor and outdoor event space, on-site lodging and catering. A 20 percent deposit is required at contract signing. Canton is also home to First Monday Trade Days, which fills local lodging on the weekend before the first Monday of each month, so check your date against it.
Also worth a call: Hopkins County Regional Civic Center in Sulphur Springs, a multipurpose county venue with wedding packages and several bookable spaces, and Crockett Lakefront RV Resort & Marina for a casual lakeside event.
What to ask on an East Texas tour
Ask whether there is a sale rate. The Black Oak publishes discounts of 30 to 46 percent off its own list price. If one venue in a market does that, others will negotiate even if they do not advertise it.
Ask about outside food and alcohol. The Reserve allows both. Many venues do not, and in a rural market where the in-house catering options are limited, the right to bring your own caterer is worth real money.
Ask what the rental block is. The Villa gives 13 hours. The Reserve gives 8am to midnight. The Black Oak's weekday package is nine hours. These are very different products.
Ask about the drive. East Texas venues draw from Dallas as much as from Tyler. Sulphur Springs is roughly 90 minutes from Dallas, which is why The Black Oak markets itself as "just outside Dallas." If half your guest list is coming from the metroplex, that drive is part of the decision.
Check football and Trade Days. Nacogdoches fills for Stephen F. Austin home games, and Canton fills for First Monday Trade Days. Both take the lodging your guests need. Our best months guide covers the statewide calendar.
