8 Best Wedding Venues in Sedona and Flagstaff (2026 Guide)

·5 min read

Sedona and Flagstaff are 30 miles and 2,000 feet apart, and they make two different weddings.

Sedona is red rock, resorts and destination weddings: L'Auberge on Oak Creek, Enchantment in Boynton Canyon, Sky Ranch Lodge on Airport Mesa. Most of its resorts quote by proposal. Flagstaff, at 7,000 feet in the pines, is cooler, cheaper and more local, with the most original venue in Arizona: Lowell Observatory, where Pluto was discovered.

Too few venues here publish a starting price to quote a median, so this guide leans on the ones that do and tells you what the rest offer.

We cataloged 38 wedding venues across Sedona, Flagstaff, Cottonwood, Jerome and the Verde Valley. Below are the 8 we would point a couple to first, each checked against the venue's own site.

Every venue below is in our Flagstaff and Sedona wedding venue directory, where you can filter the full list and see published pricing side by side.

Flagstaff

1. Lowell Observatory

The 1894 observatory on Mars Hill, and a genuinely unusual wedding. It publishes everything, with off season from November to April and peak from May to October:

  • Great Planetary Hall, for 150, 12 hours: $4,500 to $5,500 off season, $6,500 to $7,500 peak, weekdays to weekends
  • Rooftop Terrace, for 100, four hours: $2,000 off season, $3,500 peak
  • Under the Stars on the historic grounds: $2,000 off season, $4,000 peak with a tent
  • VIP wedding, $17,500 all year, for 100: admission, a planetarium ceremony, bartending, a DJ, florals and on-site lodging
  • Small ceremonies in the Clark Telescope Dome ($1,600, 25 guests), the courtyard or the gazebo

Add a private telescope session ($225 an hour) or a planetarium ceremony ($535 an hour). Bar and DJ come from its partners, and you need a coordinator and event insurance.

2. The Gardens at Viola's

An indoor-outdoor venue beside Viola's Flower Garden nursery, for up to 150, with a patio, a deck, a bridal suite, seasonal potted flowers and the forest for photos. A day-of coordinator, tables and chairs are included, and you bring your own caterer. Pricing on request.

Sedona

The resort deep in Boynton Canyon, surrounded by red rock and wilderness, with the Mii amo spa next door. Ceremonies are offered to couples who hold the reception on property, and the base package covers the space, a custom menu, tables, linens, china, a sound system, banquet staff and setup. Couples get ready in its haciendas, casas and casita suites. Pricing on request.

5. Outbound Sedona

A renovated hotel with more published capacity detail than any resort in town:

Others worth a look

The Arboretum at Flagstaff sits on 200 acres inside the Coconino National Forest, with weddings produced by its exclusive partner. Agave of Sedona is a private high-desert venue with hillside villas. How to shop Sedona and Flagstaff venues

Expect resort pricing in Sedona. Most of the resorts quote by proposal, with catering, room blocks and a coordinator built in. Ask each for a total for your guest count early.

Use the altitude. Flagstaff sits near 7,000 feet, so it stays green and mild through summer, when the Valley is too hot. Sedona, at about 4,300 feet, is best in spring and fall.

Plan for the monsoon. July to September brings afternoon thunderstorms to both. Schedule outdoor ceremonies for the morning or have a covered option, and remember Flagstaff can see snow from November to April.

Mind the permits. Weddings on national forest land around Sedona need a permit, and the most famous viewpoints are crowded. A venue with its own view saves you the logistics. Our venue tour questions cover the rest.

Our venue checklist covers the rest of the shopping list, and what a wedding venue costs explains how venue pricing is structured.
