8 Best Wedding Venues in Natchez and Southwest Mississippi (2026 Guide)

Natchez has more surviving antebellum architecture than any town in America, and almost none of it publishes a wedding price.

That combination defines this market. There are perhaps a dozen genuinely significant historic properties here hosting weddings, several of them National Historic Landmarks on grounds of 25 to 45 acres, and the published-pricing rate among them is close to zero. Our statewide data found a Natchez venue median of $2,075, which is the lowest in Mississippi, and it is almost certainly wrong: it reflects the few properties that publish, not the grand houses that do not.

So this guide is structured differently. It tells you what each property is, what it publishes, and what to establish on the phone, because the phone is how this market works.

The Pilgrimage question, first

Before anything else, check your date against the Natchez Spring Pilgrimage (roughly late March through April) and the Fall Pilgrimage (October).

During Pilgrimage, the city's historic houses open for public tours. Several of the properties on this list are Pilgrimage houses, which means that during those weeks they are either unavailable for weddings or working around a tour schedule. Those windows also happen to be the two best weather periods of the year in southwest Mississippi, so the conflict is direct.

This is the single most important scheduling fact in the Natchez market and it is not obvious from any venue's website.

A note worth reading

Several of these properties were plantations or were built with wealth from enslaved labour, and Natchez was one of the largest slave markets in the antebellum South. Some of the houses now interpret that history directly; others do less with it.

Couples weigh this differently and it is not our place to decide for you. But it will come up with some guests, and it is easier to have considered it in advance. Natchez also has non-plantation options, including the downtown hotel and the convention centre below.

The historic estates

1. Monmouth Historic Inn & Gardens

A National Historic Landmark antebellum inn on 26 acres of gardens, hosting ceremonies, receptions, and full-property buyouts. Pricing is not published.

The full-property buyout is the format to ask about. It gives you the house, the gardens, and the guest rooms exclusively, which turns a wedding day into a wedding weekend and solves lodging at the same time.

2. Dunleith Historic Inn

A National Historic Landmark on a 40-acre estate with indoor and outdoor wedding spaces, on-site guest rooms, a restaurant and bar, and multiple ceremony and reception areas, capacity 25 to 700.

Wedding pricing is not published, but the Simply Southern Elopement Package requires a $500 non-refundable deposit at booking. At 700 capacity, Dunleith is the largest of the historic properties and one of the few that can take a genuinely big wedding.

3. Brandon Hall Plantation

A historic property on 45 acres with garden, gazebo, grand foyer, and lawn ceremony settings, a bridal suite, and in-house coordination, capacity 1 to 600. The most completely published pricing of any Natchez estate:

• Elopement package $1,650 for up to 8 guests
• Deluxe elopement $2,000 for up to 20 guests
• Photo sessions $250
• Whole-house B&B rental $1,500 per night Sunday to Thursday, $1,650 Friday or Saturday, two-night minimum, $7,500 weekly
• Full wedding venue rental on request

A two-night whole-house buyout at around $3,300 is the most concrete number in Natchez, and for a wedding of 40 with the party staying on site it is genuinely good value against anything comparable in the state.

4. Choctaw Hall

A historic Natchez home hosting weddings, ceremonies, and receptions in a grand Southern setting. Wedding pricing is not listed; house tours run $25 per adult.

5. Linden Historic Bed & Breakfast

A circa-1790 inn on seven park-like acres, available for exclusive use with multiple ceremony and reception locations, suited to intimate weddings and rehearsal dinners. Pricing on request.

At 1790, Linden predates the antebellum houses around it by two generations, and the seven-acre setting is more intimate than Monmouth's 26 or Dunleith's 40.

6. Magnolia Hall

A restored 1850s Greek Revival house with garden grounds and an adjacent hall, operated by the Natchez Garden Club. Rental pricing is not published; tour admission is $20 for adults.

Being club-operated rather than commercially run often means lower rates and more restrictions. Ask about both.

The non-historic options

7. Natchez Grand Hotel

A boutique hotel on the Mississippi River in downtown Natchez with indoor wedding and event spaces, catering, and event planning assistance, capacity 30 to 230.

For couples who want Natchez without the antebellum question, this is the cleanest answer: a riverfront hotel with rooms for guests, walking distance to the historic district, and no interpretive baggage.

8. Natchez Convention Center

A 32,000 square foot venue in downtown Natchez with meeting and exhibit space, an adjacent community centre, and a 119-room host hotel nearby. Food and beverage must come from the centre's approved caterers or its own staff.

The host hotel is the practical draw. In a town where lodging is the constraint, 119 rooms attached to your venue solves the problem in one booking.

How to shop Natchez

Check the Pilgrimage dates before you do anything else. Spring runs roughly late March into April, fall in October. Both overlap the best weather of the year.

Ask for the full-property or buyout rate, not the venue rate. Monmouth, Dunleith, Linden, and Brandon Hall all offer exclusive use in some form. Given that Natchez has limited hotel inventory and your guests are travelling, a buyout that includes rooms is often better value than a venue fee plus a scramble for lodging.

Establish the catering arrangement early. The Convention Center requires approved caterers. The historic inns generally have restaurants or preferred lists. In Natchez the food is rarely a free choice, and it is a large share of the total.

Get the number on the first call and expect it to be higher than our state median suggests. The $2,075 figure our data produced for this region reflects the properties that publish, which are the small ones. A National Historic Landmark on 40 acres will not be $2,075.

Plan the drive. Natchez is about 1:45 from Jackson, 2:30 from Baton Rouge, and 3:30 from New Orleans. It is a destination for nearly every guest list, which argues for a weekend format and against a Sunday evening finish.
