3. Dogwood Venue

A family-owned, secluded venue in Sumrall set among oak and pine, with indoor and outdoor spaces, capacity 160 to 200. Tables, chairs, parking, bridal and groom suites, and ceremony and reception setup are included.

The included setup is worth pricing. In markets where it is not included, day-of setup and breakdown is commonly a $500 to $1,500 line.

4. The White Rose at Waterloo Farms

A historic family-owned barn venue in the countryside outside Hattiesburg, with indoor and outdoor ceremony options, natural gardens, a terrace with an outdoor fireplace, and on-site lodging available through Airbnb and Vrbo, capacity to 300.

Routing lodging through short-term rental platforms rather than a hotel block is a practical solution in a rural market, and it means your guests can see and book rooms themselves.

How to shop Hattiesburg

Ask for the pricing pamphlet. Brookside Barn offers one, and several others in this market will send a package sheet if asked directly. It is a much faster way to compare than a round of tours.

Get the all-in number, because the formats differ sharply. Sycamore Oaks at $3,500 includes catering, bar, decor, and coordination. A barn venue quoting $3,500 for the room alone is a completely different price. In a market with this few published figures, the format is where couples get confused.

Prioritise covered outdoor space. Hattiesburg is hot and humid from May through September and stormy in spring. In the Woods, the White Rose terrace, and the Bakery Building's patio and garden all give you outdoor character with a roof, which is the right compromise in this climate.

Consider your guests' route. Hattiesburg is on I-59 about 90 minutes from both New Orleans and the Gulf Coast, and 90 minutes from Jackson. That central position is an underrated asset: for a guest list spread across south Mississippi and Louisiana, it is often the shortest total drive for everyone.
