15 Best Wedding Venues in Galveston & the Bay (2026 Guide)
Galveston is the only genuine beach wedding destination in Texas, and it behaves like one: high season, low season, a Victorian downtown, and prices that move with the calendar more than with the venue.
A caveat before the numbers. Only six Galveston-area venues publish a starting price we can use, producing a median of $4,450. Six is not enough to quote as a market rate, and we are not going to pretend otherwise. What the island does have is unusually detailed published pricing from the venues that do share it, several of which publish full day-by-day rate cards. Those are more useful than a median anyway.
The structural thing to understand is that this market has two halves. The island itself is historic and expensive. The mainland behind it, in Santa Fe and Texas City, is barn-and-garden country at roughly half the price, and it is 25 minutes away.
We cataloged 32 wedding venues across Galveston and the Bay. Below are the 15 we would point a couple to first.

Historic Galveston
1. The Bryan Museum
A historic museum venue with a Conservatory, a Gazebo and landscaped gardens, hosting everything from elopements to full receptions. Capacity 30 to 140, 4.8 stars.
The most completely published pricing on the island:

Beverage packages are published too: $50 per guest for open bar with a signature drink and champagne toast, $40 for beer and wine with champagne, $10 for a non-alcoholic bar.
"Marriage in a Moment" is worth calling out. At $5,200 it includes an officiant, photography, flowers, cake, champagne and a mini reception for 30 guests. For an elopement with real production values, it is one of the better packaged deals in Texas.
2. Moody Mansion
A historic Galveston mansion offering tours and private event rentals for weddings, receptions and rehearsal dinners. Grand and formal, and among the most recognisable buildings on the island. Venue pricing is by inquiry.
3. 1859 Ashton Villa
A historic Victorian residence available through the Galveston Historical Foundation. A heritage property in the truest sense, and a distinctive alternative to the hotel ballrooms.
4. Carr Mansion
A restored 19th-century Greek Revival mansion hosting intimate weddings, with indoor and outdoor space for about 50 guests and lodging available for the wedding party. 4.7 stars.
The best small historic option on the island, and having the party sleep in the house makes it a weekend rather than an evening.
5. The Lyceum
An affordable historic venue in downtown Galveston with a stained-glass chapel, an intimate second room, and an outdoor courtyard and gazebo. Tables, chairs, setup and a bridal suite are included. Capacity to 300.

Security is $40 per officer per hour. The entire building on a Saturday for $5,250 with a stained-glass chapel included is the best value in historic Galveston, and the Monday-to-Thursday rates are genuinely cheap.
6. The Lasker Inn
A historic bed and breakfast and event venue offering indoor and garden event settings with all-inclusive packages and luxury guest suites. 4.8 stars. Built for a destination wedding where the party stays on site.
The resorts and the water
7. The San Luis Resort, Spa and Conference Center
A 32-acre beachfront resort with a Grand Ballroom, the smaller Mainsail Salon, and a Gulf-view gazebo for ceremonies. Capacity to 500, with on-site lodging, dining, spa, and hair and makeup for the wedding party. Pricing on request.
The largest full-service beachfront option in Texas.
8. Moody Gardens
A 242-acre resort and attraction complex with sophisticated ballrooms, resort accommodations, and indoor and outdoor settings ranging from island-casual to rainforest to formal ballroom. On-site hotel, spa, marina and golf.
One requirement to know upfront: weddings and social events require a day-of event planner. Pricing works by request for proposal.
9. The Tremont House Rooftop Bar
A historic downtown hotel with a rooftop bar and flexible event spaces, capacity 8 to 800. The rooftop is the reason: downtown Galveston and the harbour from above, which nothing else here offers.
10. Blue Lagoon Bar & Grill
A waterfront restaurant and event venue at Lago Mar in Texas City with upscale American dining and full bar service. Capacity 10 to 2,000, the widest range in the region.
The beach itself
11. Beauty & The Beach
A remote beachfront lighthouse venue in Crystal Beach built specifically for beach weddings, with packages from elopements up to full-service events for 200 guests. 4.7 stars.
Pricing is not published as a rate card, but the structure is: low season November through February, high season March through October, and weekday weddings Monday through Thursday at half price excluding holidays. A $500 deposit blocks the date and doubles as the damage deposit. The site states its prices sit well below the average Texas venue.
A half-price weekday beach wedding at a lighthouse is a specific and rather good idea.
12. Crystal Beach Villa
A waterfront Gulf Coast vacation rental in Crystal Beach that books for weddings, with a large covered hospitality plaza, outdoor kitchens, waterway access and on-site lodging.
Published rental rates:
- Weekly: $3,950 standard, $2,700 off-season
- Weekend: $2,250 standard, $1,900 off-season
Plus a $525 deposit, a wedding cleaning fee of $300 to $500, and a $500 facilities fee for weddings. An off-season weekend at $1,900 plus fees is the cheapest waterfront wedding weekend we found in Texas.
Note that Crystal Beach is on Bolivar Peninsula, reached by the Galveston ferry. Build the ferry queue into your guest logistics, because on a summer weekend it is not a short wait.
The mainland, at half the price
13. Willowynn Barn
A modern farmhouse venue on 18 private acres in Santa Fe with an open-air chapel, outdoor ceremony sites and indoor and outdoor reception space. Capacity to 250, 4.8 stars.
Published 2026 and 2027 rates:
- Friday $9,900, Saturday $10,900, Sunday $6,500
- Intimate Elopement Package: $6,700
- Micro Wedding: $4,700
- Bridal or baby shower: $1,200
Bar packages are published per person: $35 premium top shelf, $30 limited house, $25 beer and wine.
14. Tuscan Courtyard
A 10-acre Italian-inspired venue near Texas City with outdoor ceremony spaces and an indoor ballroom. Capacity 75 to 220, 4.8 stars.
- Venue only: $5,799 to $7,999 by day and season
- Essentials Package: $11,399 to $13,599
- Tuscan All-Inclusive: $14,449 to $16,649
A $500 cleaning fee applies to venue-only rentals and is waived with either package. Critically, the venue charges no service fees and no gratuity, with only 8.25 percent sales tax added. In a region where 20 percent service charges are common, that is a meaningful difference on a $14,000 package.
15. Haak Vineyards & Winery
A winery in Santa Fe with vineyard scenery, an old-world chapel and an underground wine cellar for ceremonies and receptions. The cellar is genuinely unusual on the Gulf Coast, where basements essentially do not exist.
Also worth a call: The Hidden Palms in Santa Fe, a family-owned venue with a palm-tree garden and packages to 200; Doyle Convention Center in Texas City, a 14,000 square foot city facility for up to 800; and Galveston Wedding Chapel, which offers traditional ceremonies, receptions and beach weddings with in-house photography and video.
What to ask on a Galveston tour
Ask about the storm clause first, and get it in writing. Hurricane season runs June 1 through November 30, and Galveston is the single most exposed wedding market in Texas. Ask specifically what happens to your deposit under a mandatory evacuation order, what triggers the clause, and whether it covers a storm that closes the causeway without damaging the venue. Ask which season your date falls in. Nearly every venue here prices peak and off-peak differently, and the gaps are large: $2,000 at The Bryan Museum, half price on weekdays at Beauty & The Beach, $350 on a Crystal Beach weekend.
Ask what fees sit on top. Tuscan Courtyard charges no service fee or gratuity. Others charge 20 percent. The Lyceum adds $40 per officer per hour for security. These decide the real price.
Price the mainland. Willowynn and Tuscan Courtyard are 25 minutes from the island and their all-inclusive packages compete with island venue-only rentals. If the beach itself is not the point, the mainland is the better buy.
Check the ferry. Anything on Bolivar Peninsula means your guests queue for a ferry. Plan the timeline around it.
