15 Best Wedding Venues in North Florida (2026 Guide)

·7 min read

North Florida is the part of the state that does not look like Florida. There are no beaches on this list. Instead there are live oaks, rolling pasture, limestone springs, thoroughbred farms, and a genuinely different architectural tradition: nineteenth-century mansions, tobacco barns, and small brick downtowns that have more in common with south Georgia than with Miami.

It is also the most price-transparent region in the state. Twenty-two of the 94 venues we cataloged here publish a starting package, a higher share than anywhere else in Florida, which makes it unusually easy to comparison-shop before you tour.

The region covers a lot of ground, so treat it as four markets: Gainesville and Alachua County, Ocala and the horse country south of it, Tallahassee and the red hills, and the coastal edges at Apalachicola and Crystal River. Below are the 15 we would tour first.

For the statewide picture, see how much a Florida wedding costs and our venue cost by region comparison.

Quick context on North Florida pricing

Published starting packages run from $1,500 to $29,995, with the median at $3,998 (n=22). That sits below Orlando and Tampa at $4,000 and well below the Atlantic coast markets, and the gap widens once you account for what you get: at this median you are frequently buying a whole-weekend, exclusive-use property with lodging, which on the coast would be a room rental for six hours.

The region also has 7 venues publishing under $1,500, at a median of $700. Those are halls and small rooms and we count them separately, as we do everywhere.

Gainesville and Alachua County

1. Valley View

A luxury venue in Alachua on 2,200 acres, with multiple ceremony locations and indoor and outdoor facilities. Packages run $11,995 to $29,995 and include day-of coordination, catering, photography, and DJ. That is the top of the North Florida market and it is buying an entire wedding rather than a venue. For couples comparing it against assembling nine vendors, it is closer than the headline suggests.

2. 1908 Grand

A restored historic venue on North Main Street in downtown Gainesville for up to 150, with original architectural detail, chandeliers, a bridal suite, and full coordination. Published at $6,000 to $8,000. It is the best formal room in the region and downtown Gainesville puts guests within walking distance of hotels and restaurants.

3. Kairos Events and Catering

A full-service venue on West University Avenue in Gainesville with four distinct indoor spaces and a capacity range from 20 to 508, offering in-house catering, bar, photography, videography, and floral. Published at $4,500 to $10,500. The 508-guest ceiling is the largest in the region outside the Ocala hotel market, and having everything under one contract removes a great deal of coordination.

4. C Bar Ranch and Organics

A luxury barn venue in Alachua with indoor and outdoor ceremony and reception space and private access for the whole wedding weekend, holding up to 220. Published at $6,500 to $7,500. Weekend exclusivity at that price is the North Florida value proposition in a single line.

5. Granville Plantation

A full-service venue in Newberry with multiple indoor and outdoor spaces and in-house planners, taking 100 to 300 guests. Southern-estate character with genuine capacity, which is a rarer combination in this region than the number of barns would suggest.

6. The Laurel Oak Inn

A historic seven-bedroom mansion in Gainesville's historic district, operating as a whole-home rental and intimate venue for up to 70. The wedding party sleeps on site. For a small wedding where most guests are traveling, that solves the hardest problem in one booking.

Ocala and the horse country

7. Ranch Wedding Events

A private 26-acre luxury estate in Reddick offering exclusive-use wedding weekends with on-site lodging and multiple ceremony locations. Weekend packages run $6,000 to $10,000. Marion County is thoroughbred country and the landscape here, white fences and live oaks over rolling pasture, is the single best reason to marry in North Florida.

8. Andalusian Oaks

A 31-acre European-inspired venue in Morriston with Tuscan-style architecture, gardens, and indoor and outdoor ceremony and reception space for up to 200. It is the most designed property in the region and reads far more expensive than the area's pricing would suggest.

9. Hilton Ocala

A full-service hotel venue with eleven flexible indoor and outdoor event spaces, all-inclusive packages, on-site catering, and rooms, with a capacity range from 20 to 880. If your guest list is large or heavily out-of-town, this is the practical answer in the region and the only one that can absorb a very big wedding.

10. Licciardello Farms

A farm venue in Summerfield holding up to 200, published at $4,000 to $6,000. Straightforward, well-priced, and close to The Villages, which matters if a portion of your guest list already lives there.

11. Grass Campers Event Venue

A 10-acre farm venue in Reddick with full wedding packages from elopements up to 150 guests, including catering coordination, bar service, and event staff. Published at $1,900 to $4,600, which makes it one of the best-value full-service options anywhere in Florida.

Tallahassee and the red hills

12. Woodberry

A historic barn venue on 215 acres near Havana, north of Tallahassee, built around a century-old tobacco barn, taking 20 to 175 guests. All-inclusive weekend packages run $4,980 to $6,280 and include accommodations, decor, tables, and chairs. Tobacco barns are architecturally specific, tall and dark-timbered, and they make better event spaces than the generic rebuilt barn.

13. Havana Springs

A 50-acre historic venue near Tallahassee with the Shady Rest Event Center holding 200, thirteen guest rooms, and ceremony locations including a 200-year-old oak. Published at $400 to $5,950 with all-inclusive packages and no hidden fees. The range spans an elopement through a full weekend, and the oak is the reason to go.

14. Uraina's Haven

An industrial-modern open-air venue on a 7-acre estate just outside Tallahassee, for 50 to 350 guests, published at $3,000 to $3,500. It is the most contemporary-looking room in a region full of barns, and the capacity range is generous for the price.

The coastal edges

15. The Packinghouse at Sugarcane Farms

A renovated Florida watermelon packinghouse in Crystal River, transformed by its owners into a destination venue. Crystal River is Nature Coast country, spring-fed and manatee-famous, and it is one of the quietest and least discovered corners of Florida. The building has genuine agricultural-industrial character rather than an applied rustic theme.

Over on the Forgotten Coast, the Majestic Jewel Inn of Apalachicola is a historic 1908 inn hosting intimate ceremonies and vow renewals with five suites and a studio on site. Apalachicola is a working oyster town and a genuinely lovely place to get married small.

Also worth a tour

Stonewood Events in Alachua is a hilltop pavilion for 20 to 200, published at $2,000 to $4,000. The Manor on Main Street in Alachua is a restored late-nineteenth-century mansion with nine named rooms holding up to 200, published at $2,000, which is remarkable for the property. The Abbey at Blackadder in Gainesville seats up to 64 with an on-site craft brewery bar. The Barn at Deep Creek in Gainesville has pasture and woodland views with private preparation areas. Pine Grove Barn at Shadd Farms in Lake Butler sits usefully between Gainesville, Lake City, and Jacksonville. The Barn at Oxford covers the Sumter County side. Oake Haven Lodge in Marianna runs $2,000 to $3,000 for up to 150 out on the western edge. And Leval Rooftops in Tallahassee is an unusual one: three luxury townhomes with rooftop bars, published at $750 to $2,500, well suited to a small reception or an afterparty.

Two things specific to North Florida

The football calendar is a real planning constraint. Gainesville and Tallahassee are university towns, and on a Florida or Florida State home game Saturday the hotel inventory in each city is gone, rates multiply, and traffic is genuinely bad. Check the schedule before you set a fall date. This is the one thing that catches out-of-region couples most often, and fall is otherwise an excellent time to marry here.

North Florida gets actual winters. Not severe ones, but Tallahassee and Gainesville see freezes, and a January outdoor ceremony here is a different proposition from a January outdoor ceremony in Naples. The upside is that summer, while hot, is a few degrees kinder than South Florida and the humidity breaks earlier in the fall. October and November are excellent. What to ask on the tour

Ask what the weekend package actually includes, because in this region a great many venues sell Friday-through-Sunday exclusivity and the comparison against a six-hour coastal rental is not obvious until you itemize it. Ask about on-site lodging capacity and what happens to the guests who do not fit. Ask what the rain plan is at full capacity, since a lot of the ceremony sites here are under open sky or a single oak. And for the rural properties, ask about road access and parking for a hundred cars.

Our venue tour checklist covers the rest, and what a wedding venue costs explains how to compare an all-inclusive weekend against a bare rental.
