The bayou parishes run a median of $3,750, though that rests on only two venues above our floor, so treat it as a signal rather than a statistic. The venues that publish their rates

1. The Venue at Robinson Ranch Company

A Houma property with indoor and outdoor space, an open-air chapel, and pond views, holding up to 250. It publishes the most complete package in the region:

• Friday $6,500, Saturday $8,000, Sunday $5,000

That rate covers up to 250 guests, tables, chairs, white linens, two ceremony sites, a covered pavilion, a five-acre pond view, large bridal and groom suites, a one-hour ceremony, a four-hour reception, and an all-day staff representative.

Two ceremony sites is the detail worth noticing. In a climate where an outdoor ceremony is a coin flip half the year, having a second location already included, rather than a tent quoted later, is worth real money.

The $3,000 spread between Sunday and Saturday is also among the largest day-of-week gaps published anywhere in Louisiana.

2. The Old Building

A historic downtown venue in Berwick with indoor and outdoor spaces, seating up to 200. The full-day wedding package starts at $2,500, with additional hours at $125 if available. Hourly rental and custom packages are also offered.

A full day at $2,500 is strong value, and "full day" rather than a four-hour block is unusual at this price point anywhere in the state.

3. Arlington Mansion

A historic antebellum-style venue in Franklin on seven acres of landscaped gardens along Bayou Teche, offering exclusive use of the mansion, carriage house, and grounds, capacity to 100.

Wedding packages are by custom quote, but several adjacent rates are published: private events at $250 per hour with a two-hour minimum, afternoon tea parties at $45 per person with a 15-person minimum, and full house rental at $1,000 per night.

That $1,000 nightly full-house rate is the interesting one. For a small wedding with the party staying on site, it is one of the better-value historic properties in south Louisiana.

4. La Patinoire, The Rink

An indoor venue in Schriever built in a former roller rink, with the original maple flooring kept as the centerpiece and an all-under-one-roof event design. It markets itself as a blank canvas.

The floor is the argument. If dancing is the point of your reception, a sprung maple rink floor is a better surface than anything a hotel ballroom will give you, and there is nothing else like it in Louisiana.

5. Chez Felicite Weddings & Events

A southern country venue in Raceland with a historic reclaimed-cypress pavilion, oak-lined grounds, and day-of coordination included, handling 25 to 250 guests.

Package prices are not published, but the deposit structure is: a $2,000 non-refundable, non-transferable deposit plus a $500 refundable security deposit, with the balance due 90 days before the wedding.

Included day-of coordination is worth $500 to $1,000 in this market, so factor it into any comparison.

6. Dansereau House

A National Register-listed Italianate mansion in downtown Thibodaux, offered as an event venue with an exclusive culinary partnership with Cristiano Ristorante.

The exclusive catering arrangement is the thing to establish early. It means you are booking a restaurant's kitchen as much as a room, which is often excellent and always removes a decision. Ask for menu pricing on the first call, because the venue fee alone will not tell you what the wedding costs.

7. Foundry on the Bayou

A two-story Thibodaux venue on the bayou with indoor ceremony and reception spaces, outdoor bayou views, and customizable packages. The two-storey layout gives you a natural cocktail-hour separation.

8. The Canefield

A rustic barn venue in Raceland along Bayou Lafourche, capacity 120 to 250, positioned as country setting with southern style. About 45 minutes from New Orleans, which makes it the most realistic bayou option for a guest list based in the city.

9. Barry P. Bonvillain Civic Center

A large public event venue in Houma with versatile spaces for both intimate and large gatherings, venue planning support, standard published rental rates, and a list of approved caterers.

The approved-caterer list is the constraint to check. Civic centers are usually the cheapest large room in a market, and the catering restriction is usually where that saving partly goes back.

10. Park Place Event Planning and Venue

A 2,000 square foot downtown Houma venue and full-service planning company with flexible layouts and catering through in-house and partner services.

Their non-wedding rates are published and useful as a reference: a two-hour minimum at $600 (not offered Saturdays), three hours $750, four hours $850, each including two additional hours for decor and setup, with extra hours at $125. A $300 retainer books it. All-inclusive wedding packages are quoted separately on request.

The two free setup hours are a genuinely good term and worth asking every venue in the region to match.

How to shop bayou venues

Move your date off Saturday. Robinson Ranch publishes $8,000 Saturday, $6,500 Friday, $5,000 Sunday. That is a 38% saving for a Sunday wedding at the same property with the same inclusions. Nowhere else in Louisiana publishes a gap that large.

Ask what the hour count includes. The Old Building sells a full day. Robinson Ranch sells a one-hour ceremony plus a four-hour reception. Park Place gives two setup hours on top of the rental. These are very different products at superficially similar prices.

Check the catering arrangement first, not last. Dansereau House has an exclusive restaurant partner. The Civic Center has an approved list. Chez Felicite includes coordination. In this region, what surrounds the venue fee varies more than the fee itself.

Think about the drive from New Orleans honestly. Forty-five minutes to Raceland is right. Houma is closer to an hour, and Franklin on Bayou Teche is closer to two. If most of your guests are coming from the city, that difference decides whether people drive home or you are booking hotel rooms in a small town.
